We believe in the strength of numbers and that we are stronger together. We also envision OASIIS as the conduit to share limited resources, while also building a space to foster sharper skills and increase capacity. OASIIS is committed to forging cross-border collaborations and amplifying the impact of our partners within the region.
We are building different pathways so everyone working toward information integrity in Asia–Oceania can participate at a level that suits them: Community member: If you haven't filled out the membership form yet, but you are getting regular updates, then you are here. This is what we call the open level. It is for anyone who is passionate about our mission and wants to know how we are doing. Organisational member: You want to join and get involved? Here is the membership form. If you're part of an organisation (like a fact-checking project, newsroom, NGO or research group), we'd like one person to attend meetings (or a stand-in if they can't make it). We consider applications for individual members on a case-by-case basis for now. Please see the different categories on the membership registration form. OASIIS Council member: For the next level, if you excel at devising strategies for continuity in challenging times and making quick informed decisions, we welcome you to try for our elected leadership roles representing one of our five sub-regions: East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Oceania and Central Asia. These roles will be open for voting in the coming months.
Fees fund core operations, capacity-building programmes, the Regional Early Warning System, research publications, and the annual conference. A full financial report is published annually.
Yes. OASIIS operates independently of any political party, government or ideological movement. Our governance structures include explicit safeguards protecting editorial independence.
Member organisations contribute signals about emerging narratives. These are validated and escalated through a tiered alert system, enabling coordinated responses across multiple countries.
Individual journalists and researchers may join as Associate Members, granting access to the resource library, training programmes and the annual conference at a subsidised rate.
